What is the zkBoost consortium?
The ZkBoost consortium is a group of 34 companies (and growing!) in the zero-knowledge tech space. We’ve all banded together with the goal of developing the zkBoost API, a unique API to outsource zero-knowledge proof generation.
The zkBoost API will be an abstraction layer designed to act like a universal adapter for proof generation: any source of proof demand, such as co-processors, rollups, or provable apps, can leverage it. This single API will be an interface that ensures ongoing compatibility with proving systems and their market, streamlining the process of finding the right prover for your proof.
The Consortium is made up of many companies with their own goals and visions; some are direct competitors, others are partners, and others have yet to meet. This means that the API will be credibly neutral and consumer-focused: we’re allowing developers to use the most efficient scheme without serving the members’ at-times conflicting interests.
In the Consortium, we all share one goal: making provable apps easy to create.
